Former town tearoom sold

A POPULAR former tearoom in the centre of Tiverton has been sold by estate agent Seddons.
Four and Twenty Blackbirds, in Gold Street, closed in January but plans by the previous owner to re-open the venue as a cafe serving food with a medieval theme did not materialise and the teamroom, with a one-bedroom maisonette above, was put on the market four months ago.
The sale of the premises, initially advertised at £170,000 or to let for £17,000 a year, was confirmed last week.

Comments
I hope that our council will ensure the Four and Twenty Blackbirds site is used in a sensitive way and not razed to the ground for redevelopment.
Is this a case for our Tiverton Civic Society to show an interest I wonder?
