Round 5 - Bristol 14th June 2009
With over 250 race entries from around the South
West, Tiverton BMX Club were in for a busy day of racing as they travelled
to Bristol on a scorching Sunday.
In novice class, Tyler Westcott came in 4th for 6 and under after
racing in continuous moto rounds due to technical errors, I bet he was
tired!
Danny Nichols and Reece Cutler represented Tiverton in 6 and under with
Reece pedalling in at 3rd
Little TJ Baldwin flew the flag for Tiverton in the Male 8s, keeping
up with the Burnham boys coming in at 4th.
Elliot Norrish put in a good day of racing in the B final for Tiverton in
the Male 11s. Bethan Hallett competed with the boys in the Male 14s taking 7th
in the A finals, brother Connor took 4th in the Male 16s as Sam
Hann took the 2nd.
TJ Baldwin swapped his Cruiser for his 20" at Bristol racing with fellow
club member Ben Blake in the Male 17+ who made the B Final, both tallying up
the points for Tiverton. In the Male 25+, Derek Cutler came in 4th
with Ian Wheeler taking home 4th after a fall in the B Finals.
Shannon Blake rode well in the Female 10-12, finishing 5th in the
A Finals, with some tough competition from Burnham. Paula Hallett took 3rd
in the Ladies 20+, sitting at 3rd mid season.
With no TJ in cruisers, it was up to Jason Nichols to win it for Tiverton,
and he didn’t do bad coming in 6th in the A finals, leaving him
at 4th in the mid-season rankings, doing well for his comeback
year!
With work underway on the Tiverton track, the next regional will now be at
Bideford on 5th July 2009.
