Fab fab fab!

Four of us + a toddler visited over the late May Bank holiday weekend. We were encouraged to go by a recent recommendation to one of our party and we are so glad we did! Firstly, the food was amazing, two of our party had the beer battered cod and chips, which was super fresh and came with home made tartare sauce. One had the sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection and served with tomatoes on the vine and a large mushroom (looked very nice on the plate). I had the smoked mackeral pate, complete melt in your mouth experience, yum. Toddler had sausage and mash with the obligatory tomato ketchup, which he cleared up! The service was friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Loos lovely and clean, with lots of loo roll! I have to mention also the childrens playroom, normally you come across these they are not too great, missing toys, dare I say a bit dirty. This was great though and kept our toddler amused. We will be back!

The staff were very friendly, the ambience was quite good, but my Carrabean Pork was a lot to be desired. It was very dry, with no sauce and hardly any pineapple - very difficult to eat.
My friend who had the mixed grill also did not rate the meal very highly as the sausages tasted like they were weeks old - with a funny old tangy taste.
