Loved the location of this beautiful little floating cafe-bar on the Grand Western Canal. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, and it was blissful to sit watching the ducks with no noise louder than the clinking of glasses. The interior is far roomier than you'd imagine, and the decor is clean and simple, with sparing use of traditional canal art. Although the bar is small, it offers a reasonable range of local ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks of the traditional variety. The only disappointment was the food – we'd deliberately dropped by at lunchtime, and all the menu had to offer was a selection of pies. They were very nice, but for anyone who didn't like or couldn't eat pie (several members of my family have wheat allergies), there was nothing at all. It wouldn't put us off visiting again, but just for drinks.
