IT would appear that Tiverton Town Council are either seven

months ahead of themselves, five months behind or are just using up the spare
napkins before using the town’s kitty to buy some new ones.
Following the inauguration ceremony of the new mayor Cllr
Lester Crocker, he invited us all to a buffet in the Town Hall. It was a
very nice buffet with mini pasties, pork pies and cake. I took some back into the
Gazette office to share among colleagues, and it wasn’t until then I noticed
that the napkin was somewhat out of place!

Yes, we all enjoyed the food and none went to waste! I have to agree with Konig, and it also gave us all a bit of a chuckle to think of Christmas at this time of year too.

ReportVery welcome - thank you! In this age of waste and overspending, I think you should be commended for such frugality.

ReportThe napkins were possibly left from a Private Charity fundraing event recently and not the property of the Town Council, the Civic rooms are used by many various organisations, and from time to time some articles are left in the kitchen area, and can be used for mopping up spillages etc, rather than wasting. Hope this answers any queries ? I trust the food welcomed amoungst your colleagues ?
