Tiverton Signpost Club will be performing their annual
-
Cinderella [Played by Emma Smith]
-
Baroness and the Baron [Claire Derbyshire and Collin Barrow]
-
Infectious and Halitosis with Cinderella [Robin Trump, Sonia Smith and Emma Smith]
pantomime ‘CINDERELLA’ at The New Hall in Tiverton from January the 26th
to February the 6th 2010.
Rehearsals are well under way and this year’s show looks set to be
another huge success. With all of the
Cinderella story’s well loved characters, colourful , stunning costumes,
intricate dances, fun and laughter all the way, the panto is a perfect night
out for all the family.
The cast includes some well loved familiar faces – Oran Trump as Buttons
who will have you laughing all evening and is irresistibly loveable. Robin Trump and Sonia Smith as the very
unpleasant, horrible ugly sisters, Infectious and Halitosis who are both
hilarious and revolting at the same time!
Clare Derbyshire plays a very high and mighty Baroness who is brilliant
at being sickly sweet to her ‘darling daughters’ and yet heartless and cruel to
poor Cinderella. And the poor hard done
by, bumbling Baron Hardup played by Colin Barrow who can’t resist the delicious
charms of Nigella, the court cook, who is dotty and delightful played by Laura
Molding. Our sweet and beautiful
Cinderella is perfectly portrayed by Emma Smith who can’t fail to fall for the
handsome charm of Prince Charming played by Kelsey Perry who is helped along
the way by his loyal and dashing companion Dandini, played by Eloise
Harcombe. Chloe Penfold is regally
confident as the Queen and Mollie Budden is both graceful and elegant, although
a bit scatty as the Fairy Godmother.
The story is the traditional tale of Cinderella, the badly treated
step-daughter of the Baroness who is forced to work as a scullery maid in the
kitchen and generally be pushed around by her two unbearable and very demanding
step-sisters. Her true friend and only
companion Buttons, helps her to smile through her hardship, but Buttons has
fallen in love with Cinders. Great
excitement fills the air when the Queen decides that it is time for her son,
the Prince to be married and holds a grand ball in his honour in the hope that
he will find a bride. In the meantime,
the Prince has fallen for a poor waif that he met in the woods during the Royal
Hunt. The ugly sisters are delighted at
an excuse to tear each other to pieces in their bid to win the heart of the
Prince. The story follows the hilarious
antics of the ugly sisters and the magic of the Fairy Godmother who makes
Cinderella’s dreams come true while Buttons tries to convince Cinderella that
he is the man for her.
The talented backstage team have again produced some excellent scenery
including a massive pumpkin, Cinderella’s coach, a fat-reducing tank, remote
controlled mice and an impressive ballroom.
Come and watch the story come to life with laughs all the way, fabulous
dances and lots of enjoyment for all as you wait to see if Cinderella will go
to the ball and whether Prince Charming will find his bride. Tickets are available from Twyford
Photography and Print in Bampton Street, Tiverton and are priced at £6.50 for
adults and £5.50 for children.

I heard there was going to be a 14ft pumpkin in the show! Now, I'm not veggie expert - but thats quite a pumpkin!!!
I haven't been to see a panto in too long so I'll be trying to make the trip to this one - and I'll try and take my gran because apparently she goes a bit crazy with her 'oh no it isn't' and she'll probably be an embarrassment.....
And doesn't Emma look cute in her Cinderella costume eh?! aww... bless her :P
