Tiverton Junior Operatic Club's award nomination for Les Miserables

"Tiverton Junior Operatic Club has just been informed that their 2010 production "Les Miserables" has been nominated for the "Jean Fennell Award for Best Youth Production".  The Club entered for the Rosebowl Awards for the first time this year. The Rosebowl Awards are presented annually for amateur drama and music.  It is based in the Somerset/Avon area, but more recently has been extended into the Devon area.

Representatives from Tiverton Junior Operatic Club will be present at the award ceremony at The Winter Gardens, Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday 17th October.  They will be sat with fingers crossed hoping that their hard work will be rewarded. 

The 48 Junior Club members, aged from 11 to 19, received standing ovations after each performance at The New Hall, Tiverton back in February 2010. 

During the Club's 30 years they have won various National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) regional awards for "Big Al" (1993), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1995) Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dramcoat (1997) and Honk! (2004). 

TJOC are delighted to be nominated and are looking forward to attending the award ceremony in October."
