Tiverton High School Students Banned From Morrisons Garage

TIVERTON High School students have been banned from using Morrisons garage after a pupil let off a fire extinguisher.
Morrisons manager Glen Allen made the decision this week, but the culprit has now been dealt with. He said: " I did ban them for a period, as we needed to find out who did it. Now they have been dealt with, I'm happy for them to start using the garage again."
Students use the garage at break and lunchtimes to buy their lunch, but had to use the main store when they were not allowed into the petrol station's shop.
Police were called in to look at the CCTV footage, and along with the High School, they found the person responsible for the crime.
Under health and safety law you must not misuse or otherwise interfere with any equipment provided for the purpose of safety, such as fire extinguishers, fire alarms and emergency stop buttons.
Tiverton High School headteacher Andrew Lovett said: "We have had this kind of situation before, and we sorted it out then. We're hoping to make sure the student doesn't do this sort of thing again.
"Out of 1,300 students, it's only years ten and eleven which are allowed to leave the school's premises at lunchtime, and occasionally you get one of two which will let the side down."

@TivMeldrew - Tiverton High School is still called Tiverton High School, it was only East Devon College, and North Devon College that changed their name.
In my experience of being at the school, then I'd agree that it is just the odd one or two that let the side down, but, I guess letting off a fire extinguisher is just kids larking around - for all we know, the person who did it could be a very polite and charming chap but just likes to play silly bugers.

ReportIt's a pity more effort is not put into shaping attitudes and behaviour, instead of dreaming up costly schemes like the change of name - Petroc - I ask you, what was wrong with Tiverton High School, at least everyone knew what it was!

Reportalot of the students leave the school at breaktime which im led to believe is not allowed. How the teachers miss this mass exodus I dont know they should have teachers at the gates stopping this
