THE first case of swine flu has been diagnosed in Tiverton.
A parent of a child at Castle Primary School has contracted the illness but is said to be recovering in hospital.
The school has not closed and is open as usual. A sign on the main entrance said: "One of our parents has had swine flu, but is recovering well.
"We are advised that there is no significant threat to the school so it's business as usual."

ReportIt's frightening how this flu affects those with the strongest immune systems. I was actually just reading about the cytokine storms, which are caused by swine flues - a sort of 'overreaction' of the immune system that can damage your organs etc.
Scary! To think how far from perfect our bodies are...
So much for Creationism.

ReportI hope the child isn't too ill. I know someone who had really mild swine flu. Let's hope it's something similar.
