Members of Devon Army Cadet Force in Tiverton have given £600 to Help for Heroes.
The money was presented on their behalf by Sylvia Pengelly who made a substantial donation to the collection after seeing previous fundraising efforts by the cadets.
Mrs Pengelly, whose husband was in the Royal Engineers, was moved to contribute after seeing the tremendous efforts the cadets were making to support troops serving overseas.
The money was collected by holding raffles, packing bags in a local supermarket and many other activities.
The money was received by Dave Gammell, the South West area coordinator for the charity, who gave the cadets a presentation on the charity and how the money would be spent.
Cadet force Captain John Ruane said: "All the cadets attending the evening came away feeling that the charity is a worthwhile cause and they would continue to direct their energies to raising as much money as they could in its support."
