wide range of activities taking place on the day.
The day on Sunday September 5, has been described as an
affordable family day out in the enchanting rural parkland at Uffculme on the
land owned by Lord and Lady Ivar Mountbatten of Bridwell House.
Proceeds from the day will be donated to the NSPCC, Devon
Air Ambulance and the Help for Heroes charity.
This year the show is celebrating 70 years since the Battle
of Britain and organisers are encouraging people to travel in vehicles
associated with the time. They will join other classic cars, motorbikes and
stationary engines.
The Blue Cross Kennels are putting on a dog show for furry
visitors, and there will also be welly wanging competition.
Some of the displays in the main ring this year include Honiton
Majorettes, Cogs and Wheels Morris Dancers, a falconry display, and youngster Lance
will be playing his electric guitar.
Uffculme Army Cadets are bringing a climbing wall, and the
Air Cadets will be bringing their aircraft simulator. More flying is on offer
as the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club are
bringing a glider and selling tickets to win a flight in one from their base
near Dunkeswell.
If you’re more a fan of the sea than the air, the Sea Cadets
are displaying seaworthy crafts and running a skittle alley.
Other attractions include Mr Showers –the Fun Loving Clown,
ferret racing, donkey rides, alpacas,
Tiverton Foxhounds and a funfair with bouncy castles. Live Music will come from
the George Formby Society Band, the Lucy Lastic and the Blackdown Hills Steel
Band.
The event is on Sunday September 5 from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
Tickets cost £4 for adults, and £2 for children (under 5’s free). Free car parking will be provided and there
will be signposting off the M5 from Junction 27, or use the B3181 from M5
Junction 28 at Cullompton.
