June 3rd Demonstrator was Pat Penno with the theme trendy ideas.  Forty members and four visitors attended on this lovely sunny day. Each arrangement had its own different style for everyone in the audience to try and practise at home. All the flowers were in beautiful condition and in various shades. Whilst making the arrangements in front of us she gave an interesting talk on her experiences and the mishaps that she has encountered. A really enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

The first demonstration was a garden exhibit using white peddles, six moss poles which were long cardboard tubes taken from the inside of kitchen foil, contorta hazel, ferns, hostas and pine for the foliage, flowers of roses, wild strawberries, honeysuckle, sweat williams and carnations.

The second demonstration was an open contemporary arrangement in a large black container.  Black midelino sticks which can bend easily were used to give height, twisted aspidistra leaves and beautiful bright yellow sunflowers throughout the arrangement.

The third demonstration was sea scenery designed in a glass fish bowl.  Using drift wood, various sea shells and small glass balls in both round and oval shape. A ring of small pieces of wood were overlaid and intertwined of each other to make a round circle with six centimetres in depth. Pale pink cymbidium orchid flowers were the only flowers required for this design. The flowers complimented all the other textures in this display.

The forth demonstration was a group arrangement placed in a long tin container.  She had incorporated pine, hebe and other garden foliage, and integrated the flowers of purple lark spar, flocks, roses, and pinks carnations. A wonderful arrangement recreating a garden boarder with the fragrance from the blooms made this the arrangement you most want to win in the raffle.

The fifth demonstration was in a very large tin container, with tall garden canes wired together. Flowers included stocks, green chrysanthemums and orange gerberas. Accessories used were silver material she had placed over one side with sisal balls over the top also coloured sticks added to this display to give height.
