Tiverton Borough Bowling Club have the perfect invitation

IF you are looking to make new friends and try a new hobby, Tiverton Borough Bowling club may have the perfect invitation.

The club are holding an open day in aid of Hospiscare's Mid Devon Day Hospice Appeal on Saturday May 14 from 10.30am to 4.00pm at its home green at 11 The Avenue in Tiverton.

Anyone

is welcome to try their hand at bowling and there will be refreshments,

a tombola  and cake stall to raise funds for the new day hospice which organisers hope to open in June.

“The

idea of the open day is to give people a chance to see just how

enjoyable and sociable bowling can be,” said club secretary Margaret

Gratton.

“We are a very friendly club and new members are always very

welcome. The only rule for the open day is to wear or bring some flat

shoes.”

Margaret added that the club had decided to support the day hospice this year as they wanted to help a local charity.

Tiverton

Borough Bowling club has its own green with  more than 50 members who

play regularly, home and away – enjoying matches across Devon and

Somerset . There are also a wide variety of social events.  The new

season is just under way and full details about membership and weekly

practice sessions will be available at the open day.
