THE COUNTDOWN continues for the new Alworths store opening in Tiverton next week.
-
Former Woolworths employees Emma Herrett and Adam Hibbert will be respectively the trading manager and area manager for Alworths, which is opening a store at the former Woolworths site in Tiverton's Fore Street.
At 10am on 25th August alworths, the general retailer that sells
everything from branded toys to haberdashery, will open in Tiverton. The
store will be opened by the Town Mayor, Cllr Lester Crocker, and alworths MD,
Andy Latham.
Alworths, situated in the former Woolworths premises at 18 Fore Street, will be a local
variety store with a great range of products at value for money prices.
It will stock a large choice of pic ‘n’ mix and other sweets,
branded toys, entertainment products, homeware and garden items, together with
stationery, party accessories, cards and wrap, haberdashery and household
convenience purchases.
A team of 10 staff have
already been employed at the new store, under the leadership of Trading Manager
Emma Herrett and Area Manager Adam Hibberd. Emma and Adam are
ex-Woolworths colleagues who previously worked together at the Tiverton
store. Adam was managing the store when the chain closed in January
2009. He says: “I have a
real soft spot for Tiverton and it’s a fantastic feeling to be back. I’m looking forward to seeing
lots of the old customers again and establishing alworths in the community.”
The opening day promises to be plenty of fun with music,
balloons and free promotional cups of pic ‘n’ mix for the first 200
customers through the door.
Latham
says: “We are really excited about opening in Tiverton next week.
There will be lots going on in-store and we look forward to welcoming as many
local residents as can join us.”
