Between 3.00am and 3.30am on Sunday 15th August a male victim
was walking along Wellbrook Street between the Weatherspoons public
house and ST Paul’s church when he was attacked by three men.
During the incident which appears to be completely
unprovoked, he was punched to the ground and then assaulted with the use
of a knife.
The attack was particularly vicious and as a result the
victim sustained a slash wound to his forehead, another to the little
finger on his left hand and also to his right shin and required hospital
treatment.
The first suspect is described as being aged 20 years, 5’8” in
height, stocky and muscular in build, with short cropped light blond
hair, gelled into an untidy style, and wearing a light coloured collared
shirt with pink checks and blue jeans.
The other two suspects are described similarly, as being also
aged approximately 20 years, about 5’6” to 5’ 7” in height, skinny
build and gaunt.
One of them had a shaven head and wore a black hoodie.
Police would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed the
incident or has any information to assist in identifying the offenders.
