Unite - The Mid Devon Carers charity is holding this year's Annual General Meeting in the Bickleigh Suite of the Fishermans Cot on Friday 19th October. They want to take this opportunity to celebrate the past year with Carers and share their vision for the future while giving people the chance to voice their ideas on how Unite can improve support for unpaid Carers. The meeting will start at 2.30pm, to be followed by some short presentations and discussions, and then tea will be provided. The formal part of the afternoon will take about an hour followed by a relaxed cream tea, finishing by 4.30pm.
Unite will be very pleased to see as many Carers as possible, together with the person they are caring for, if they are able to attend. It is necessary to book so that the Fisherman's Cot can know how many cream teas to prepare, so if you are a Carer or supporter and would like to join the tea party please contact Unite by Friday 12th October on 01884 257511.
You can leave a message with your name and phone number if calling outside office hours, and Unite will return your call to confirm your place.
Unite has been providing support services for unpaid Carers in Mid Devon for nearly 10 years and is in the middle of a three year process of revitalising itself for the future.
Volunteers are always needed to provide support for Carers of all ages. Unite would also be very pleased to meet anyone who would like to be involved in the support and running of the charity, and especially those would like to contribute their skills in the areas of Management, Health and Social Care, Public Relations, and Internet-based Social Media. If you are interested in helping in any of these ways and would like to meet Unite people, all together on this relaxed occasion, please call the office and book your place for the AGM!
