NEXT WEDNESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER, BLUNDELL'S PREP. SCHOOL, 6.45 - ALL WELCOME!!!!
THE CLUB CATERS FOR ALL LEVELS OF PLAY.
JUNIORS PARTICULARLY WELCOME - THEY ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR CLUB
This is the start of the new season and the club always welcomes interest from newcomers. If you play chess but have never belonged to a club, now is your chance to mend your ways!
On the first night of a new season members generally renew friendships and acquaintances and play friendly games. Friendly games are always an option, but as the season progresses many members become involved in the internal club competiotions - the club championship, the rapidplay and the handicap rapidplay. We have a special event on 30th September when visitor Mark Abbot, a good County first team player, will play all of us simultaneously! If you have always marvelled at the concept of anyone being able to play something like ten games at once, now is your opportunity to be part of that scene. Be warned. Hhe usually beats most of us!
The club also enters teams (usually of 4 palyers, 1 car load!) in The Exeter and District League and Leagues organised by the Devon County Chess Association.
IF YOUR TASTE BUDS HAVE BEEN TICKLED BY THE ABOVE, COME ALONG NEXT WEDNESDAY. A WARM WELCOME IS GUARANTEED.

Report
Hello Fred_Mandrake! Sorry I've not looked at this website for weeks.
When I retired just under a year ago, joining Tiv Chess Club was one of the things I considered (I'm the nice man who donated his little library to the club). But you've only got to do a couple of things on a regular basis, and the week runs away with you. Where did we find time to do a job? (Trite but true).
