Peoples of Tivvy ,I will be gracing your town with a visit in september from Melbourne.Could someone recommend a hostelry suitable for an elderly gentleman with very clean habits.Perhaps the Tiverton Motel ?I've tried the Bridge Guest house previously and also a farm just outside of town but i would like somewhere I could get a meal in the evenings and perhaps a drinkie or two.All suggestions (within reason) will be considered.Also ,are there any special things happening in September?

September 11th is the age old tradition of the Tiverton Leat! As a former Tivertonian I'm sure you know all about it, and I for one am looking forward to it.
Tiverton Best Western Hotel or even the Hartnoll Hotel in Bolham should be ok and I haven't heard anything bad about them.
Then in Cullompton in September is the Tour of Britain - it came through Tiverton the last two years, and so a trip to Cullompton to see it is worthwhile.

You could also try the Angel Guesthouse on St. Peter Street, have a look at "angelguesthouse.co.uk" there is an e-mail link on the website for you to contact them. Prices are good and the owners are friendly.

you could also try the Lodgehill Hotel on the A396 towards Bickleigh.Its on the edge of town so is very quiet but only a 15/20 min walk into the centre, along the river.
