I see the Gazette reports that town centre cyclists are to be targeted as there has been a case of someone riding the "wrong way" in Fore Street.

Clearly our town planners made a mistake long ago as there is no way for a cyclist to travel through our town from west to east without dismounting!

The answer surely is to permit bikes to travel in Fore Street rather than have the expense of policing this?

And what about the threat of fines for otherwise conscientious and environmentally aware travellers? This strikes me as being out of touch with the current trend towards care for our environment.
