Conservatives take overall control of Mid Devon District Council

THE CONSERVATIVES have taken overall control of Mid Devon District Council.

There are now 24 Conservatives compared with the 20 there were in the last term.

Here are a list of the Mid Devon Devon District councillors in Tiverton:

Castle: Brenda Hull (Con), Janet Rendle (Con)

Cranmore: Sue Griggs (Con), Paul Williams (Lib Dem), Kevin Wilson (Lib Dem)

Lowman: Neal Davey (Con), Dennis Knowles (Ind), Colin Slade (Con)

Westexe: Alan Griffiths (Con), Gerald Luxton (Ind), Mary Turner (Other)

    speedboat, actually no, the people of Tiverton, offered overwhelmingly in the District Council Elections a 'Hobson's choice' of Tories or Lib Dems, of those who voted, voted for the Lib Dems in the main, and for sitting Councillors in the main. of course 60% didn't vote for anyone - hardly surprising given the choice.

    I have been elected by the people of Cranmore Ward to the parish council as an independent. Tomorrow we'll find out more regarding the numbers and spoilt papers and such.
