Without a doubt the BEST chippy around for miles. Penguin always has people queuing out the door for their chips. The presentation of how they are wrapped is better than others in town, and the standard of food is extraordinary. Its real close to town so its easy and efficient to get too, except you cant park outside of it like you can at some others. Also it isn't open Sundays and can be fairly expensive :\

    Penguins is one of my favourite places to get fish..

       

    Penguins is one of my favourite places to get fish and chips in town. Sometimes it may be a little tricky to park, but that's not something you can blame on the shop. I've never had a bad experience with Penguins, although I have heard rumblings that it's a bit pricey - so while it being something a family may not want to do too often - it makes it more a treat when you do!

    OK - sometimes you do need the loo a little later - but heck, when I eat peas I do to, and it doesn't stop me eating them!

    Love Penguins Fish & Chips. Good service, nicely wrapped up in paper as you'd expect. Good little spot to park outside just for a couple of minutes, good tasting traditional fish and chips!

    It's the reason why the food is a national institution!
