Three men from Tiverton were injured this morning following a collison with a van on the A361.

It is thought the men were working on the highway when the collision happened.

The 43-year-old male driver of the van from Saltash has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to Heavitree Road in Exeter.

Police and emergency services were called to the incident on the northbound carriageway close to Gornhay Cross at 11am this morning. (29 January)

The two men were airlifted from the scene and taken to Derriford hospital in Plymouth and the RD&E in Exeter. A third man is described as 'walking wounded'.

The East-bound carriageway is now open. The Barnstaple-bound carriageway of the road remains closed and is likely to remain closed until this evening, however, diversions are in place. As it is near to a slip road drivers are able to take the off slip and then rejoin the carriageway after the incident on the on-slip.
