PETROC College celebrated a 7% rise in it's A-level pass rate when results were released yesterday.
Tearful students after an emotional ride
The pass rate has risen to 96.49% while A*-C grades had gone up by 15%.
Head of sixth form Donna Townsend said it was all down to the hard work students put in. She said: "When students do well it represents good team work, teaching, and showing that everyone is doing what is needed.
"I'm really pleased. You see them work hard, and then before exams and the results they're stressed, but now they are getting good results it's good to see them happy."
Deputy Principle Pene Prior added: "We are very pleased with our results at both Petroc Barnstaple and Tiverton.
"We have very able staff who have worked extremely hard, and also of course the students who have worked hard over the year.
"I think that young people will see that they can get excellent results here and its great news for both our campuses."
Of those celebrating were Laura Hooper who achieved two A*s and a B which means she'll be able to study Biological Sciences at Exeter University.
She said: "I was so nervous but thankfully Exeter University sent me a text this morning confirming my place.
"There's more pressure on us this year as nobody is deferring places or taking gap years, but I'm ok now - thank goodness for that."
Sophie Lazarus got grades Bs in Pyschology and Sociology and a D in Biology. She said: "It's not too bad. I don't really know where I'll go from here.
"I did better than I thought in psychology, although I'm a little bit disapointed with a D there's nothing I can do to change that now."
