Thunderbirds are go for British Heart Foundation's birthday bash

THUNDERBIRDS were go as staff at Tiverton's British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop celebrated the charity's 50th birthday this week.

British Heart Foundation, Fore Street, Tiverton, celebrating 50th anniversary of the charity by dressing up and giving out cake.
Volunteer Carl German and assistant manager Joanne Vile both wore fancy dress to the Fore Street store on Tuesday 5 July as BHF stores across the country helped to celebrate the milestone.
Customers were given a special birthday fruit cake which was made by a store volunteer. Carl German who was dressed as a Thunderbird said: "It is showing an appreciation and giving something back to people who have helped us over the years.
"I am dressed as a Thunderbird today as it was one of many outfits in my collection.
"A lot of people have come in today and smiled at us as we serve them."
The shop had another reason to celebrate as they recently became the first store in the region to raise £1,000 as part of the charity's Heart Button Campaign.
Store manager Donna Woodland added: "The volunteers have done very well to win the award and reach that figure over the past six weeks.
"I would like to thank the people in Tiverton for helping us and for their continued support."
