School will make apple juice from its own orchard

HEATHCOAT Primay School be busy making apple juice from trees in their very own orchard.

The school will celebrate Environment Day on Thursday 6 October and be harvesting their apples thanks to an idea from the Friends of Heathcoat School committee.
At 3.30pm during the day, the school will open to the public where the apple juice will be sold at £1,50 per 1litre bottle.
The juice will last up to three days if kept in the fridge or frozen for future use.
You can bring spare apples to (ither eating or cooking apples into the school between the 3-6 October.
If you would like to pre-order bottles of juice to be reserved for you or have any other questions about the event please call Roz Thomas on 07813 159857.
The school has also appealed for people with apple trees at home to bring any spare apples to the school to help with fundraising.
For those of you that are unable to make this event on 6th October, Old Heathcoat School Community Centre (OHSCC) will also be hosting the Heathcoat Press on Saturday 15th October. Families or individuals are welcome to come along, bringing their apples, and use the facilities to press and juice. Please contact Gavin at the OHSCC through the café or by phoning 01884 251155.
