Tiverton High School pupil's question council leader for Mid Devon's youth news

THE leader of Mid Devon District Council answered questions from pupils at Tiverton High School last week.

Recently re-elected Peter Hare-Scott took part in a question and answer session with head boy and girl Tomos Emanuel, 16, and Lauren Jacques, 16.

Cllr Hare-Scott said: "The council are very keen to work with the school and I am pleased to be here today. It is clear a lot of work has gone into the questions, and as well as answering questions I've been able to get feedback on the services the council provide."

The aim of the meeting is to help relations between the council and the school, and a piece will be written by the students for the magazine Mid Devon Talk's youth column.

Tomos said: "We spent an hour before he came trying to think of questions to ask and I think it went well. We will be able to share his answers with other pupils at the school in a central meeting and hopefully have a better understanding of the community."
