Invitation to join runners

BUDDING athletes are invited to join a running group in Tiverton which is keen to attract newcomers.

The Tiverton Harriers are looking for people to join a series of new sessions during February and March.

There is no need for people to be especially fast or to have done much running before, but they must be keen to get fitter and enjoy the sport.

The group has more than 50 members in the senior section and include men and women of all ages.

Between 10 and 20 people turn up on Tuesdays and Thursday training nights.

A spokesman for the group said: "Young people over the age of eight keen on running are also invited to join the junior club.

"The Harriers' coaches will do all they can to help people achieve their various individual goals."

The Harriers meet at 5.55pm at the Heathcoat Fabrics factory, just past the gatehouse.
