Green Living in Tiverton

BEING in the centre of beautiful Devon, Tiverton is a place where it is easy to feel in touch with nature.
Yet sometimes though we appreciate how lovely the nature surrounding us is, we can forget to protect it.
A new project by The Eco Experts is hoping to show how you can make small changes at a local level and embrace green living.
Just because the temperature has dropped, does not mean we should stay huddled inside and Tiverton has many beautiful walks to take, either through the centre or alongside the Exe or the Lowman.
It is also a good time to recycle your leftover food and natural materials to create nice rich compost ready for the spring, and luckily Tiverton has plenty of garden centres in its vicinity to help you get all the equipment you need.
While you're at the garden centre, you could pick up a pot plant. Studies have shown that a little greenery in the house creates a calmer atmosphere, and it will mean there is lots of lovely clean Oxygen inside. It is also important to keep warm this winter, by ensuring your boiler is working properly and it might be worth looking into investing in insulation for your walls and rooftop.
Not only does this mean you are spending less on your energy bills, it also means you are using less energy and thus protecting the environment.
And as the season of giving approaches we often shop a little more than usual, so try and use reusable bags, or paper bags which you can then recycle.
A spokesperson from www.theecoexperts.co.uk said: "There are many simple steps you can make to enjoy your winter in a Green way. Ultimately if everyone makes one small change, we can all make a huge difference."
