French visit on the 2013 cards for town twinners

A LOOK back on another year of international bonding will take place in Tiverton next week when the town's twinning association holds its annual meeting.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting in the New Hall, Tiverton, on Thursday, October 4, at 7.30pm to find out more about twinning.
Next summer, the group will visit twin town Chinon in France and welcome friends from the German town of Hofheim to Devon, although the dates of visits have yet to be finalised.

If this idea is to progress then our Tiverton twin town organisers need to make contact with local organisations with music, singing and dancing experience.

ReportWe (Exe Valley Voices) have just joined another community choir on a visit to their twin town in the South of France.
Good idea. why is it that the Europeans love their own traditions and so many in the UK put ours down.
Now if you ask me a town in the South of France is a really good place to twin with!.
It was a great visit. The French people in La Ciotat made us so welcome. They provided fab food and were great hosts - we loved the place.
Claire Anstee our choir leader and Yvette Staelens the other choir leader had us singing our socks off. It seemed to go down well. :)

ReportTown twinning is a nice idea. We should use visits as an opportunity to show our European friends some English traditions.
Why not intoriduce them to Morris Dancing - we have both energetic dancers and live musicians in Devon.
