The Environment Agency has said today (Monday, November 26) that more flooding is expected along the rivers and roads between Tiverton and Exeter.

A flood warning, which means flooding is expected, is in place for Bickleigh, Thorverton Mill, Nether Exe, Brampford Speke, Upton Pyne, the A396 and A3072 at Bickleigh and the Exeter to London Paddington railway line.

Rivers rose following a weekend of heavy rain.  Further rain and heavy showers are expected into Monday today.

The agency said that standing water in the fields and on the roads continued to pose problems and warned people not to go near it or driving through it. On Saturday, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue attended 51 incidents where cars had become trapped in flood water.

The Environment Agency is continuing to monitor the situation.
