Tiverton Christmas Guide 2012

Christmas is coming and there is plenty happening in Tiverton over the next few weeks to tempt you to brave the cold and join in the festivities.

On Saturday, December 8, there is a Victorian Fayre at St Pauls Church and grounds from 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Plenty of family fun is on offer and admission is free. There will be food, craft and gift stalls, Victorian games, mulled wine and mince pies, entertainment by school choirs, town singers, a bouncy castle in the church, and even a real donkey with the Nativity Scene! End a wonderful afternoon with a short Carol Service. 

The following day (Sunday  9 December ) there is Christingle for all the family at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Square, Westexe, Tiverton, Devon EX16 5HZ

Continuing the tradition of outstanding musical theatre productions Tiverton High School is proud to present the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, CATS. With amazing choreography, a great orchestra and fantastic songs this promises to be their best ever. CATS the Musical starts it run on Monday, December 10 at the Tiverton Community Arts Theatre at Tiverton High School until Friday December 14. Start time is 7.00pm. Tickets (£7 or £6 with concessions) are available from the school and the Tourist Information Centre.

The Christmas Comedy Club opens its doors at 8.00pm at The New Hall in Tiverton on Monday 10th December . Brilliant comic Paul Sinha is confirmed as the headline act. Paul, an Indian British stand-up comedian, broadcaster and quiz player, has appeared at all the UK's major comedy clubs and across the world and is highly in demand. Doors open at 7.30pm for a 8.00pm start.

There will be Lessons and Carols by Candlelight at St Paul's Church on Sunday, December 16 at 4.30pm. 

The Tiverton High School carol concert takes place at St Georges on Wednesday, December 19 at 6.30pm. The wonderful lantern parade that was cancelled due to the weather will also take place. Departing from the clock tower at Lowman Green at 6.15pm the lanterns will be paraded through Gold Street and Fore Street finishing outside the Town Hall. The lanterns will then be displayed outside St George's Church and the Town Hall during the carol service.

On Sunday 23 December at 6.30pm, enjoy Carols by Candlelight with Tiverton Town Band at St George's Church, Fore Street, Tiverton, Devon EX16 5DQ
