Cameron guides the Gazette

THE Gazette had a new man at the helm this week – for one week only – as local businessman Cameron Harvie became the first guest editor.

Editor Patrick Phelvin and reporter Richard Wevill met Heathcoat Fabrics' managing director Cameron Harvie at the Tiverton textiles factory last Friday to plan this edition of the paper.

Among his first duties, Cameron commissioned a piece on Tiverton Community Arts Theatre (page 17) and given his experience as a governor at local schools, he was also keen to see the education story count boosted.

The next in the series of Gazette guest editors will be Kevin Finan, chief executive of Mid Devon District Council.
